Built in 1879 by architect Julius Boekel as a 5-story tenement building, Blue Moon Hotel has since been transformed into an 8-story hotel by artist Randy Settenbrino. You'll be very close to some amazing neighborhoods like SoHo, NoHo, Chinatown, Little Italy, South Street Seaport, East Village, and Greenwich Village.

You'll find that staying at Blue Moon Hotel is just like stepping back in time. The building is the second oldest on Orchard Street, next only to the Tenement Museum across the road. Originally home to newly arrived immigrants in New York City, the hotel still has several artifacts from its original occupants on display, giving visitors a chance to step back in time.

Even though the place is old, you'll still have all the benefits the modern world has to offer! The hotel rooms feature amenities such as complimentary WiFi, large TV screens with Netflix, Keurig coffeemakers, kitchenettes, mini-fridges, and more. Better yet, two-thirds of the rooms feature terraces with a great view of the surrounding neighborhood, a rare find for a New York City hotel.

You can choose from a selection of rooms ranging between 311 and 800 square feet, all with 10-15 foot ceilings. To maintain the hotel’s vintage feel, each room is decorated with photographs by Rebecca Lepkoff taken in the 1930s.

This latest announcement comes as international tourism has increased significantly in recent months. According to Forbes, New York City’s tourism industry is poised to rebound in 2022, with a forecasted 57.9 million international visitors.

With this latest announcement, Blue Moon Hotel reaffirms its commitment to providing visitors to New York City with a modern hotel experience in a historic building. Moreover, the hotel has developed a strong reputation for its high-end amenities and beautiful interior design.

Randy Settenbrino, the artist that helmed the hotel's redesign, said: "Guests will love our hotel, especially those who love art and history because the Blue Moon Hotel NYC promises an experience that allows guests from around the world to simultaneously lodge at our lovingly restored 1879 award-winning hotel while reveling in New York City’s contemporary culture.”
