Tranco Transmission Specialist, organizer of the new High school automotive repair class field trip, announced that a High School Automotive Repair Class event will be held in Tranco Transmission shop on March 7, 2017.
Students from a local high school automotive repair course took a day to visit and learn from the local transmission repair experts at Tranco Transmission Repair of Albuquerque. Owner Ray Peterek put on the class for the automotive students. This event occurred on March 7, 2017 and was enjoyed by all the students.
One of the students after the training was over was thrilled with what was learned. John a high school student of the class stated "Ray did a really great job at explaining what happens during the course of a day in the transmission repair shop. Seeing and getting some of the hands on experience was just great."
Tranco Transmission Specialist is sponsoring this year's event, which will cover key issues such as:Differences between transmission types – Students learned about the different types of transmissions, such as manual and automatic transmissions. How the mechanics of each of these two distinct transmission types work, what makes them different and why each has it own advantages.
Technician training – What the transmissions specialists at Tranco go thru to learn how to work on the different types of transmissions. There is a great amount of training that goes on to be a tech at Tranco. Having the OJT (on the job) training from an experienced tech daily is a big part of the training. There are yearly courses that each tech must attend, courses are chosen by the needs of the individual.
Torque converters – Understanding what a torque convertor does, how it works and what it does. The students were fascinated to learn about the torque convertor and understanding the huge roll that is plays inside a transmission.
