USA Deep Bodywork Workshop Teaches Innovative Shoulder Pain Healing Techniques

Sep 20, 2024

Join the Holloman Institute (+1 831-717-7193) at the Mount Madonna grounds this October for a comprehensive Deep Bodywork workshop on proven techniques to address chronic pain of the shoulders, forearms, wrists, and hands.

The Body Is A Delicate Machine

To paraphrase Perry Holloman, pain - both emotional and physical - exists for a reason: to let us know when something is wrong. That applies to the pain of a splinter in the finger, it applies to the pain of a bad breakup, and it applies to chronic pain all the same. Whether caused by poison or posture, pain keeps us aware of the state of our body, but unfortunately, getting rid of it is not a simple process.

In fact, people have spent thousands of years trying to devise the best methods for treating pain, and yet it is something we all still experience every single day. While we may never eliminate pain entirely, we can still explore new frontiers in the world of pain management.

This is exactly the journey that the Holloman Institute embarked on upon its founding in the early 90's. They have sought in that time to bring together healing therapies from around the globe to develop new, inventive ways of tackling pain in all its forms.

Now, they are bringing that knowledge to you in the form of a live, in-person guided workshop series. This live event will showcase newly developed Deep Bodywork techniques - one of several specially developed methodologies to emerge from the Holloman Institute, and perhaps the most significant development to come out of the holistic healing space in the past 2 decades.

Learn Bodywork Secrets At Mount Madonna

The Deep Bodywork workshops will be held every day from October 20th-25th and will walk you and fellow participants through the applications and techniques central to the proprietary system, including the follow-up that is sometimes necessary to set the stage for long-term healing. The event will be held on the grounds of Mount Madonna; reservations 48 hours in advance are required to attend to ensure adequate supplies are available.

What Is Deep Bodywork?

Deep Bodywork as a discipline emerged from growing concerns in the bodyworker community over the treatment of chronic pain. Specifically, as the event organizers explain, many massage therapists have been unwilling to treat those with severe chronic conditions in the past for fear of making those conditions worse, or simply administering ineffective treatment.

The organizers of this retreat seek to address and eliminate those fears by introducing a new methodology    •one which blends the energetic healing philosophies of the Eastern massage discipline with the grounded, systems-based treatments that have emerged as dominant in the West. The stated goal at the heart of the Deep Bodywork system, as such, is to balance highly interconnected bodily components like the lymphatic and circulatory systems to achieve full-body results.

Meet The Organizers

Over the course of the workshop, instructors Perry and Johanna Holloman will guide you and fellow participants on the slow, deliberate execution of their techniques across key areas of the body. Their primary focus of this upcoming round of workshops will be on the forearms, wrists, shoulders, and hands due to, in their words, “the complexity of these structures, and the intense, chronic pain they can produce.”

As the guiding voices behind the Holloman Institute, the pair is ready and willing to stand by your side as you enter the next phase of your journey as a bodywork practitioner.
