The workshop will take place at Esalen in California on December 2-6, 2024, and will focus on teaching integrative Gestalt tools for self-inquiry and authentic living.
With an in-depth program suitable for anyone who wishes to experience the practice of Gestalt Inquiry to support a process of self-exploration, the workshop is designed to be particularly helpful for navigating life transitions and uncovering vital questions that affect your overall quality of life and relationships.
A recent study published by the University of Florence in Italy shows that Gestalt methods of inquiry can be highly effective in terms of improving behaviors and mitigating symptoms of clinical mental health disorders. During the workshop, highly qualified facilitators Perry and Johanna Holloman will guide you through a number of experiential practices to build your set of tools for personal growth.
“The powerful tools presented in this seminar can help support the emergence of what is most authentic in us and will continue to be helpful in daily life long after the workshop finishes,” says a spokesperson. “The practice of Gestalt Inquiry can imbue us with an internal sense of agency, clarity, and strength while connecting us to what many describe as a sense of ‘inner guidance.’”
As Gestalt Practice™ places a high value on the development of awareness, you will be encouraged to work frequently within a group setting, as this allows you to connect and learn about yourself through others.
Additional exercises performed in dyads or triads will help you to “metabolize” your individual experiences, creating powerful containers for personal transformation and deeper self-exploration.
As facilitators with many years of therapeutic experience, Perry and Johanna combine practices involving breath work, movement, and structured “inquiries” with individual “open-seat” work as part of a well-rounded program.
The workshop is suited to anyone who wishes to self-explore and scholarship funds are available for those in financial need . If you're planning to attend or considering the workshop, you are encouraged to read Gestalt Therapy Verbatim, by Frederick S. Perls and Steve Andreas, as well as The Unfolding Now, by A. H. Almaas.
