Phoenix International Inc. seeks partnerships, donations, and volunteers for its’ Rise Community Resource Fairs. Rise stands for Recover, Increase, Stabilize, and Expand. These are all key steps the firm aims to help its participants and guests to its events reach.
This is a bit of a low point for the country and the world in a lot of ways. There is a lot of negativity hardship and strife as a result of Covid-19 and the civil unrest in the United States here in the wake of George Floyd's death. Companies have closed, jobs have been lost, homes are in danger and these crises are not over yet. US economists now say the nation entered into a recession with the stock market crash on February 20, 2020. This follows months of speculation and denial around the state of the economy. Unfortunately, this may mean that things get worse before they get better for many.
Social workers will be busy around the clock as a result of the economic effects of all of this. Phoenix International Inc. is a social service firm that was founded in April of 2012 to create and inspire positive social and economic change. The company is in contract and partnership with the Georgia Division of Family and Children Services to provide independent living programs for youth aging out of foster care. Youth age out of care at 18 years old. They are then left to their own devices. These youth are often ill-prepared and lacking key life skills. Programs like that of Phoenix International Inc. put these youth in apartments, teach life skills, provide transportation, food, academic, and vocational assistance. This work requires an extensive network of community partners, the proverbial village.
Phoenix International Inc. has its finger on the pulse of the people by virtue of working with the people day in and day out. Phoenix calls everyone to RISE far above and BEYOND these negative circumstances. Given the potentially far-reaching devastation of the economy and other circumstances, Phoenix International Inc.'s CEO Maurice D. Ravennah is working diligently to convene a coalition of people, businesses, government entities, and organizations to offer community recourse fairs in Atlanta and around the country. Ravennah envisions communities coming together and in turn stimulating their own micro-economics. Food, clothing, jewelry vendors, social service representatives, labor dept. agents and a whole host of professional service providers attended the last such event Phoenix offered. This was all set against the backdrop of children playing in bounce castles and standing in line for cotton candy. This was of course before the advent of the Novel Corona Virus.
While things will necessarily be different, and new precautions put in place the show must go on. People need these vital resources and opportunities. Phoenix International Inc. is not only answering the call but leading the charge in recruiting others to do the same. Phoenix plans to organize various community resource fairs in partnership with other organizations around the country over the course of the next 6 months to a year. The firm is seeking volunteers, donations, sponsors, partners, and vendors nationwide. Phoenix will be mobilizing local volunteer managers across the country. If you, your office, your organization, or your company is interested in participating sign up on their website. The next community resource fair will be held in Atlanta, GA July 1, 2020.
